A little more detail on how 2PointOh came to be ...

A few years ago, we envisioned 2PointOh through a lens illuminating two perspectives: one from the positive effects realized by disruptive innovation and the other formed from the not-so-positive effects of sudden business surge events.

Let's explore each of those.

It's been amazing to watch and learn from successful and unexpected disruptive innovations. Uber disrupted the century-long hard and fast taxi business. OpenTable completely reinvented reservations and the Point-of-Sale model, and AirBnB's meteoric ascent forever changed the way we find temporary accommodations. These are palpable examples of redefining one's perception and measurement of value.

Similarly, at 2PointOh, we aim to disrupt and innovate in new ways to prove value to *our* clients and help them invest confidently in our services.

Equally amazing to us was observing the high percentage of poor outcomes, unexpected missteps, and customer disappointments during what we're calling 'Surge Events.'  We define a surge event as a temporary challenge a business faces  - desirable or unfavorable - which fails to achieve the best result because the surge event saturated internal resources such as talent, subject matter expertise, technology; and too often, all three.

Examples of Surge Events include both the good and not-so-good:

  • Short to medium term project management
  • Event planning
  • An M&A event that requires expertise for due diligence
  • Reputation recovery following an unfortunate situation
  • The need for fractional or temporary leadership during growth or change
  • Researching, kickstarting or managing special projects
  • Branding or rebranding efforts
  • Confidential business investigations (internal or external)
  • Process review, improvement and validation
  • Audits, and much more.

Too often, when a surge event or other temporary need occurs, it is unplanned or highly time-sensitive. Here is where resource strain often begins, usually not due to the availability of human resources; instead, it's due to the uncomfortable and unplanned context switch that people need to make to address the event. Without recognizing this and dedicating specific control resources to the surge event, items of importance and timelines will likely suffer. Worse, costs increase.

It's here where 2PointOh found its sweet spot.

Our leadership team at 2PointOh has decades of operational business experience and, more importantly, a rich roster of the world's most talented professionals in every program area and discipline we cover.
